I LOVE life! Life is GREAT!
Cha-cha-CHA! L-I-F-E! Life! Life Life!
Moving right along....if you didn't get the memo, I love my life. You might be thinking to yourself, why? Why do you love life so much? Did something really neat and extraordinary happen? No. Not really. Unless you consider the following life update neat and extraordinary.
Last week I started crocheting headbands and other such accessories because I was really bored and found a bag full of yarn and crochet hooks in my closet that I left here at my dad's last summer. I didn't come up with anything super cool...I've always been pretty challenged when it comes to crafts...and let's face it....I'm no perfectionist. I just like to get the dang thing finished, I don't care what it looks like. Here are a few pictures of the finished products:

Headbands, and an attempted purse...I would quit my day job...but I don't have one.
Meanwhile...back at the farm.....
So that was last week. Then on Saturday my brother (see link to a tributory blog to him on the sidebar to the right) got here and we've been having all kinds of adventures. Kind of. Mostly we've just been playing games and working out like crazy. (Which, as a tangent, is just another thing on the list that makes me love life....working out feels good!) On Monday we rode the Metro to DC and spent hours just walking around the Air and Space Museum and the Museum of Natural History. At first Michael was hestitant about going to see some "boring".....ahem...."junk"....on display, but once we got to the first museum it was his idea to take it slow and just spend a lot of time in only a few rooms and come back the next day to see more. Which was such a shock to hear from the little whiner. And and awesome shock at that! I could spend all day in just one room of a musuem! I was so glad he ended up sharing my enthusiasm for the historical beauty that is the Smithsonian. So anyways.....we've been living it up in the city.

I think my favorite part of our oggling-at-prehistoric-majesty adventure was all of the movie references that we kept making. We really do entertain ourselves. The following movies are now on my to-watch list: Jurassic Park, Night at the Museum 1 and especially 2, Ice Age, and Back to the Future...although, I'm not really sure exactly how that last one got on the list....but it seems fitting enough.
In other news.....I had the most hilarious day of my life today. Michael and I decided to have a slow day today and just kind of do our own things. That meant television and computer games for Mike and four hours of piano playing for me. Yes. I played the piano for four hours straight. You see....music is my..... well, what the computer is for this poor chap, music is for me. I wanted to think of a really cool analogy like "music is my gatorade" (but obviously struck out) because I refuse to follow in Ke$ha's foosteps and call it my drug. She obviously knows a lot about drugs because she can't even spell her own name. Why don't I just call myself @nne from now on? Anyways.......
So I was playing some ragtime by Scott Joplin when the front desk attendant from the lobby of my dad's apartment building walked into the party room where I was playing. He walked right up to the piano, stood there, and didn't say anything. The front desk guy is this big black guy who kind of looks like the guy from the Blind Side, so you can get a mental image. So he's standing there, and I thought maybe he came to tell me that someone needed the room or something so I stopped playing and looked at him. I was not expecting the voice that came out of him. In a very flamboyant and southern-baptist-choir-woman kind of voice he said, "Child, keep on playin! I love Scott Joplin!" Basically, the next four hours consisted of him coming in and out to come sit by me and listen to me play and chat up a storm while rummaging through my piano music.
I hardly got four words in. He would just go on and on about some pieces he was learning or a piece of music that he wished I had and then when there was a long enough pause for me to ask him something or slip in a comment he'd jump up and say, "Child, I betta get back out to ma desk befo' they start axin' where am I! Keep on playin' child!" Sooooo funny. After I got sick of playing classical music for a while I started playing some popular songs that I have memorized, like Apologize, Jar of Hearts, etc. While I was playing Clocks by Coldplay he popped his head in the door, looked at me and said, "Clocks? Child really?" I nodded. "Child really? Clocks, Coldplay? Really child?" and then said, "You keep right on playin' child" and walked away. But I haven't even gotten to my favorite part yet! So, during some kind of lull in the lobby, while I was playing he comes in and says, very flamboyantly "I have a request! Play Jar of Hearts again! I love it! I love it, I love it, I love it!" Then, he proceeds to sit down next to me and sing loudly and proudly along to Jar of Hearts as I play. And he had a beautiful deep tenor voice! Oh my. But still, so funny.
Yeah. It was a great day. I never thought I'd be playing aside a big black man as he belted out the line "Who do you think you are? Running round leaving scars!" Oh dear. If only he had requested Ebony and Ivory. I would have died. Right there. Hands still on the keys. Okay, that's a little graphic.
So yes. I love life. Not necessarily because of any particular greatness that has occurred but because of all the little, laugh-out-loud or simply awe-inspiring moments that occur each day.

hahahahahahahaha. I don't even know what to say... you are soooo funny. Omg(osh).
