In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity

It's official. My brother Michael and I's love for the show Psych has reached a new critical level of intensity.  Some might even call it obsessive.  I call it... Awesome.

Top 5 signs of our psych addiction:

5. Constantly quoting Psych.  We've reached a point where we just call each other Shawn and Gus.  Like Michael will say or do something completely ridiculous and I'll just be like, "Shaaawn! You must be outta yo dang mind!" Or Michael will say things like, "Gus! Get back here!" or "Gus! Dont' be a gooey chocolate chip cookie!" to me all the time.

All of these are part of our regular vernacular

4. The fist bump. We do this at least 24 times a day.

3. Matching Gus shirts. Whaaaaaaat!

2. Picking snacks for our roadtrip with the mantra"WWSGE?" (what would shawn and gus eat) in mind.

And the number one sign that Michael and I are Psych addicts:

#1.  Finding comparisons between real life experiences and episodes of Psych.

Exhibit A: On our family roadtrip across the country, we stopped in this small little town in Michigan  for gas and lunch.  The first observation Michael and I  made when pulling off the exit was,  "Dude...this town is so small it's in parentheses." Next we stopped at this tiny diner for lunch that looked like it was straight out of the 50's. Stepping inside, our minds we're immediately drawn to the episode of Psych called Dual Spires.  First of all, there was a giant sawmill thing hanging from the ceiling. Also, the bar/counter looked exactly like the one from the episode and the few people sitting in the diner were all extremely quirky and all stared at us while we were eating.  Michael kept saying, "Shawn...we gotta get outta here. These people keep staring at me like I'm the first black man they've ever seen" and I kept saying, "Hey mister! Are you Frederick Douglass?"  Bahahaha.  We even took pictures to document the experience. It was awesome and creepy at the same time.

"Who will be the next cinnamon king? Who, Who, Who?"

"The diner used to be the town's sawmill before it burned down in an arson fire."

What an uncanny coincidence....

Even though we were really full, we almost ordered some of their homemade pie because of this scene.

I know, you know, that Psych is awesome!
