Once upon a time my homeslice Jeramy drove me to the Salt Lake airport. My flight wasn't until midnight. We left at 2. Since the drive from Provo is roughly an hour, we decided to have an adventure and just do random things in the Salt Lake area. Doing random things kind of defines our friendship.
Our adventures started out with an awesome run-in with my friend Amy and her dad, in which we got to hear Amy's dad use the sweetest Jamaican accent. Seriously, highlight of the entire day. Yea mon.
First we went to Ikea and spent a little over an hour walking around, admiring Swedish furniture. At the end of our ambling about we each spent a dollar on a cinnamon roll and a chocolate bar. We're pretty proud we're so froogal. As we were driving away from Ikea I had a realization that we should be documenting our adventures....
Jer didn't share my enthusiasm. I quote:
"A picture's worth nothing, but a memory's worth a thousand words." -Jeramy Debry
I guess neither of us were really in the picture mood. Afterall, it was my last hurrah in Utah (the MTC and St. George for my sister's wedding don't count) for a long time. So, as you can see, we had mixed emotions.
The next item of business was walking around Temple Square and taking more pictures, despite the fact that they're "worth nothing."
The whole day Jeramy kept saying, "This is your day"...bahaha.
All those pictures really made us hungry, so we stopped at this B-fab pizza joint that everyone raves about called "The Pie." When trying to decide which pizza to split I suggested the Greek pizza and Jeramy said, "ewwww sick, that's disgusting, i would never eat that." So then we each got our own medium pizzas ( i know, total fatties). I got the Greek, Jer got cheese and pepperoni. When my pizza came out Jer said, "yuuuum! i want to try that!!!"
Again...I remember to take pics as we're driving away
As I anticipated, the Greek pizza was highly satisfactory and Jer wished she hadn't doubted my superior judgement. After eating pizza our bellies desired fro-yo. Jer found a place called "Squirrel Brothers" on her GPS. Seeing as "The Pie" was in this fantastically ghetto part of University of Utah town, (which, btw, we noted was an intriguing and exciting college town full of free-bird-looking students with beards and drinks in brown paper bags) we decided that "Squirrel Brothers" sounded promising and drove off to find it. We searched and searched. But to no avail. We gave up hopes for fro-yo and headed to the airport instead. "My day", my last day in Utah, was the best, randomest day ever and it was so fun spending with my best friend.
Now I'm home in D.C. and the home-from-college-for-the-summer-life has been great! I've spent my days sleeping in, playing guitar, piano and uke, helping my dad pack up his apartment, swimming, running and biking with Amy (my step-mom), and meeting with my Bishop to start my mission papers. My dad and Amy are moving to Montana in July so they're in the process of packing up things in preparation for the move. Going through my dad's apartment has been extremely entertaining, to say the least. He has a lot of neat stuff from all over the world, including some sweet clothing.
I also had another encounter with my friend from last summer! You can read about when I first met Bevon here. Basically, the story's very similar. I was playing the piano in my dad's apartment building when this big black guy rushes over to where I'm playing. Before I know it, Bevon's like, "Aaaaaaaaaaanne!" and wraps me in a big bear hug. We didn't get to really chat much because he was running late for work at the front desk and as usual I was caught up in playing the piano. Anyway, before he went back to his desk Bevon was like, "I know you're gonna blog about this!"...haha, and here I am. BUT, I'm not the only one who blogged this time, Bevon did too: check it out here. It was way cool to see Bevon again, I think it had been an entire year since the last time. It's pretty neat in life how we make friends in the most unusual/unexpected ways sometimes. :) Well, basically, I'm so excited for my summer! So, that's the scoop. Over and out.

yeeesssss. :)
